Alexander Pappas(Alexandros), His musical education begun very early with piano lessons from the pianist Yannis Padopoulos and the musicologist and pianist Liza Sperling. He continued studying by himself with guidance from friends who were musicians. He took lessons from the musician Yiorgos Xanthakos and Harmonics and Orchestration lessons from the musicians Tassos Kalaitzis and Prof.Nestor Teylor. His musical pieces reach the confines of Baroque and exude an intense romantic trait. He has composed: • Orchestral compositions for films by Carolos Bratits (documentaries) in 1999 and 2000. • Orchestral compositions for a documentary film by the Ministry for the Environment, Planning and Public Works in 1999. Orchestral compositions for an audiovisual Candilena presentation with a homonymous CD in 2000. • Orchestral compositions for a CD insert in a book published by L. Loukakis (Orchestral compositions for a disk insert published by L. Loukakis “Feelings” (in 2002. • Orchestral compositions for a disk insert published by L. In 2006 he created the “Gruppetto” String Quartet. He has also composed: • 6 compositions for a strings and piano quartet (first presentation at the ASHINART cultural centre on September the 9th 2006, performed by “Gruppetto”). • 6 compositions for a strings and flute presented at the Kea Fairy Tale festival in 2006, 2007 performance by “Gruppetto”. In 2007 he was awarded the Silver Medal (second Prize) for Orchestral Compositions for the part “Canon for strings” at the Panhellenic Composition Contest (Youth Chorus and Orchestra Hellas). The String Quartet gives concerts in various halls in Greece. 2008. He composes several peaces played in Greece and abroad. He put special importances too play with his quartet in schools and primary schools.
