Kay Darens is the 25 year old, lead singer of SchoolDrivers. Started singing and vocal training at the age of 12 - one of his teacher's being world reknown opera composer Giannis Boufides. At the age of 20 he won a scholarship for an 1 year's Vocal Training course entitled "Total Voice Control" with Arete Topouzides (Vocal Studio). Having spent some years of his childhood in England, his influences reside on bands like R.H.C.P., The Doors, Guns'N'Roses, James Brown, Aerosmith etc. In 2007 he participated at the European RootsNRoutes project, in which his song, "The Funky Brother" received tremendous acceptance and he was personally commented by Trugoy (Grammy Winner - De La Soul Member) as the "true miracle Greece has to show". Today he has released an album as well as 2 videoclips with his band Kay & The SchoolDrivers (released in March 2009 by Musicpost), has been a producer for the album of C.O.D.E. (Culture of Digital Elegance) released Jan. 2008 and some of his songs have met great sucess.
